Personal Statement
My name is Kylie Mellon, and I am the daughter of two wonderful, wanderlust individuals. Ever since I was a young child, I have been fully immersed in the world of outdoor adventures and everything that comes with it. However, there was an unexpected challenge that my parents had to confront—my tendency to cast a shadow of endless worries and overwhelming anxiety over any situation, which only grew more pronounced as I got older. Consequently, I developed a sense of resentment towards the activities that my family cherished, leaving me feeling isolated due to my fears. It was only recently that I came to the realization that being fearful is not abnormal, and it doesn't mean that I should give up.
